Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. Position the brake booster against the bulkhead.

  2. Install the brake booster mounting fasteners (1).
    NOTE:

    Brake booster mounting fasteners to be secured in this order: TOP OUTBOARD - BOTTOM INBOARD - TOP INBOARD - BOTTOM OUTBOARD

  3. Tighten the brake booster mounting fasteners to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

  4. Install a NEW  push rod retainer (2) on the brake pedal arm by pushing the retainer (2) to the brake pedal while listening for the for the click of the tabs (1) to conform engagement.
  5. Install the brake booster rod to the retainer (2), then install a NEW  locking tab (4) to the retainer (2) while listening for the click of the tabs (3) to confirm engagement.

  6. Place the master cylinder on the mounting studs and install the NEW  master cylinder to booster fasteners (2).
  7. Tighten the two NEW  master cylinder to booster fasteners to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  8. Connect the brake fluid switch wire harness connector (1).

  9. Install the brake booster vacuum switch (1) to the brake booster.
  10. Connect the brake booster vacuum switch wire harness connector (2).
  11. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
