Removal And Installation: Installation
NOTE:
Installation process is the same for both sides of the vehicle.
NOTE:
The brake pads are shipped without the shims installed. The brake pad shims must be installed to the brake pads before the brake pads are installed.
- Install NEW anti-rattle clips (2) to the caliper adapter bracket.
- Position the inner and outer brake pads (1) in the caliper adapter bracket.
- Completely retract the caliper piston back into the bore of the caliper. Use a C-clamp to retract the piston. Place a wood block over the piston before installing the C-clamp to avoid damaging the piston.
- Install the brake caliper to the front brake caliper adapter bracket.
- Install the brake caliper bolts (3) and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Pump the brake pedal several times before moving the vehicle to set the pads to the brake rotor.
- Check and adjust the brake fluid level in the reservoir as necessary.
- Road test the vehicle and make several stops to wear off any foreign material on the brakes and to seat the brake pads.
