Removal And Installation: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  4. While a helper applies the brakes to keep hub from rotating, remove and DISCARD  the front hub nut (2).
  5. Remove the front brake rotor. Refer to ROTOR, BRAKE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  6. Remove the splash shield to the steering knuckle mounting fasteners (2) and remove the splash shield (1).

  7. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor wire harness connector (1).
  8. Disengage the wheel speed sensor wire retainer (3) from the strut assembly.
  9. Disengage the wire retainers (2) securing the wheels speed sensor to the brake hose.

  10. Disengage the wire retainer (1) from the knuckle.

  11. Remove and DISCARD  the hub and bearing to knuckle mounting fasteners (1).
  12. Remove the hub and bearing from the steering knuckle.
