Removal And Installation: Removal

NOTE:

The front wiper linkage module includes the front wiper motor.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove both front wiper arms from the wiper pivots. Refer to ARM, WIPER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the cowl plenum cover/grille panel from over the front wiper linkage module (5). Refer to COVER, COWL PANEL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Remove the two screws (1) that secure the module bracket to the cowl plenum.
  5. Disconnect the engine compartment wire harness connector (2) from the connector receptacle for the front wiper motor (5).
  6. While supporting the front wiper linkage module, move the module toward the right side of the vehicle to disengage the rubber locator (4) from the wiper module locator bracket (3) on the cowl plenum.
  7. Remove the front wiper linkage module (5) from the cowl plenum as a unit.
