NOTE:
It is not necessary to pre-oil the oil filter or fill the oil filter housing.
- Lightly lubricate the new O-ring seal (1) with clean engine oil.
- Install the O-ring seal on the filter cap.
- Install the NEW
oil filter into the oil filter cap.NOTE:
If the cap retainer does come out of the new style with supporting ribs in the cap and all of the clips are present, simply put the retainer into the new filter, set the spring in the retainer and carefully reset into the cap with a firm push. Following reassembly, shake the filter and cap assembly to be sure there is no rattle noise heard and install into the Oil Filter Adapter after replacing the cap O-ring with the new one that comes with the NEW filter.
- Install the oil filter into oil filter housing.
- Thread the oil filter cap (1) into the oil filter housing (2) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Add oil, verify crankcase oil level and start engine. Inspect for oil leaks. Refer to OIL, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
