Removal And Installation - Fwd: Installation
- Install the fuel pump module in the fuel tank, if removed. Refer to MODULE, FUEL PUMP, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .WARNING:
Support fuel tank with a transmission jack or equivalent. Use straps to secure the fuel tank to the jack. Failure to properly support and secure the fuel tank during removal may cause fuel to spill or fuel tank to fall from jack assembly.
- Position the fuel tank onto a transmission jack or equivalent and raise the fuel tank into vehicle position.
- Install the straps and fuel tank strap and tighten the fasteners (1) to the proper specifications. Refer to FUEL DELIVERY, GAS, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the fuel fill hose and clamp (2) to fuel tank and securely tighten the clamp.
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Connect the fuel line (1) to the fuel pump module. Refer to FITTING, QUICK CONNECT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Connect the fuel tank vapor lines (2 and 3) to the fuel pump module. Refer to FITTING, QUICK CONNECT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Connect and lock the fuel pump module electrical connector (1).
- Fill the fuel tank and install the fuel cap, if equipped.
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
- Use the Scan Tool to operate the fuel pump and check for leaks.
- Install the fuel pump module access cover and securely tighten the fasteners (1).
- Install the floor carpet. Refer to CARPET, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
