Right - AWD: Removal
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Disconnect the right side upstream oxygen sensor wire harness connector (1).
- Remove the right side upstream oxygen sensor from the catalytic converter (2).
- Disconnect the right side downstream oxygen sensor wire harness connector (1).
- Remove the right side downstream oxygen sensor from the catalytic converter (2).
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the belly pan and the exhaust cross-under pipe from vehicle. Refer to PIPE, EXHAUST CROSSUNDER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the right side half shaft assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
.NOTE:
The lower bolts for the converter flange are used to hold a guide retainer plate (2). The retainer does not need to be removed. The catalytic converter (1) is held in by the plate and upper bolts.
- Remove the catalytic converter to exhaust manifold upper bolts (1).
- Remove the catalytic converter support bracket bolt (2).
- Remove the catalytic converter by lifting and sliding the flange up and away from the exhaust manifold.
- If required, remove the lower retainer plate (2) and the exhaust gasket from the manifold flange.
- If required, remove the upstream and downstream oxygen sensors from the catalytic converter.
