The seat belt retractors used in all seating positions include an inertia-type, emergency locking mechanism as standard equipment. Both front seat retractors also include two seat belt tensioners, and adaptive load limiter and mechanical load limiting features as standard equipment while the rear seat retractors do not include the seat belt tensioner or the load limiting feature. The emergency locking mechanism, the tensioner mechanism, adaptive load limiter and the mechanical load limiting feature are each integral to the seat belt and retractor unit and are concealed beneath molded plastic covers located on each side of the retractor spool. These features cannot be adjusted or repaired and if ineffective, damaged or deployed, the entire seat belt and retractor unit must be replaced. The anchor tensioner is also integral to the seat belt retractor unit and is not serviced separately.
