LANESENSE System: Description

The LaneSense system uses camera-based vision sensors to establish the vehicle's position on the road. Lane departure or drift is determined by a trajectory change and the absence of turn-signal activation. The Forward Facing Camera (FFC) module mounted near the rear view mirror identifies the lines on the road. The system then determines where the vehicle is placed between those lines and monitors the vehicle's movement down the road.

The system can be turned ON or OFF with a single hard button on the Integrated Center Stack (ICS). The LED on the button will inform the driver of the system status when the driver does not have the Driver Assist screen on the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC).
