Removal And Installation: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION , BELLY PAN, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION , BELLY PAN, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION , BELLY PAN, REAR SUSPENSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION and/or BELLY PAN, SIDE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Drain the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  5. Disconnect the EGR temperature sensor wire harness connector (1).

  6. Remove the inlet tube from the EGR cooler (1) and EGR (2).

  7. Remove the fasteners (1) securing the coolant tube.

  8. Remove the coolant hose (1) from the EGR cooler.
  9. Remove the coolant hose (2) from the EGR cooler and thermostat housing, then position aside.

  10. Remove the nut (2) securing the coolant tube.
  11. Remove the coolant hose (1) from the EGR cooler and position aside.

  12. Remove the lower bolts (1) securing the EGR cooler.

  13. Remove the inlet flange bolts (1) and the EGR cooler.
  14. Remove and discard the gasket.
