An electromagnetic diaphragm-type horn assembly is standard equipment on this vehicle. Two trumpet-style horns (4) are secured to a single mounting bracket (1). The horns and mounting bracket unit is then secured by a single screw to the topside of the right outboard end of the front end module, just below the closeout panel between the top of the radiator and front fascia.
The horn assembly includes a single connector insulator (3) with two terminal pins integral to the left horn. A pair of integral jumper wires (2) are connected to the right horn from the left horn connector insulator. A dedicated take out and connector of the headlamp and dash wire harness connects the horn to the vehicle electrical system.
The horn and the mounting bracket are factory-tuned as a unit and; therefore, are serviced only as a unit. The horn cannot be adjusted or repaired. If the horn or the mounting bracket is ineffective or damaged, the entire unit must be replaced.
