Removal And Installation: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Remove the front brake rotor. Refer to ROTOR, BRAKE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  5. Remove the splash shield mounting screws (2), then remove the splash shield (1).

  6. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor wire harness connector (1).
  7. Disengage the wheel speed sensor wire retainer (3) from the strut assembly.
  8. Disengage the wire retainers (2) securing the wheels speed sensor to the brake hose.

  9. Disengage the wire retainer (1) from the knuckle.
    CAUTION:

    Prior to removal, clean area around sensor head to help prevent contaminants from entering bearing when sensor head is removed.

  10. Remove the wheel speed sensor to hub and bearing mounting bolt (2)
  11. Carefully remove the wheel speed sensor from the hub and bearing assembly.
