Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- With the scan tool, read all DTCs and record on the repair order.
- Record the Event Data and Environmental Data.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Operate the vehicle on a highway at a steady speed and steady throttle in 7th or 8th gear. Use manual mode if equipped to prevent shifting and remain in selected gear. Use the scan tool to make sure enable conditions are met:
- Gear is 7th or 8th.
- Torque Converter Clutch state is engaged (Torque converter closed/ Clutch engaged).
- TCC solenoid current (Current, Pressure controller Out4) is greater than 460 mA.
- Maintain all above conditions for a minimum of 5 minutes.
- With the scan tool, read TCM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK FOR OTHER TCM DTCS
- With the scan tool, read TCM DTCs.
Are Input Speed Sensor, CAN, or Torque Converter Clutch Circuit DTCs set?
Yes
- Repair the other TCM DTCs. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Transmission in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
- With the scan tool, read TCM DTCs.
