Theory Of Operation

The Transmission Control Module (TCM) monitors the actual Output Shaft speed signal and compares it to the calculated output speed determined from the Wheel Speed signal that is received over the Controller Area Network (CAN). If the difference between the speed values is above a calibrated threshold, this DTC will set.
