Theory Of Operation

The purpose of the diagnostic is to detect failures in the analog to digital conversion of the temperature sensor signal. The temperature sensor signal is converted using two independent Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) channels. The diagnostic is performed by comparing the result of each ADC channel to determine if the signals are equivalent.
