Theory Of Operation

The purpose of this DTC is to monitor the Transmission Range Switch (TRS) signal circuits for electrical faults. The electronically shifted version uses two circuits of the TRS signal circuits that allows the Transmission Control Module to know if the transmission is in PARK or Not in PARK. These circuits are monitored for open, short to ground, and short to voltage electrical faults. A DTC will set depending on the nature of the electrical fault, and on which circuit the fault occurs
