Theory Of Operation
The purpose of the diagnostic is to monitor the rationality of the Park Pawl Sensor signal. The sensor has two pins to determine the position of the park pawl:
| PIN 1 = 0 | PIN 2 = 0 | Undefined Output |
| PIN 1 = 1 | PIN 2 = 0 | Park Pawl Engaged |
| PIN 1 = 0 | PIN 2 = 1 | Park Pawl Disengaged |
| PIN 1 = 1 | PIN 2 = 1 | Intermediate Position |
And two types of faults are monitored:
- Undefined output of the sensor
- Sensor too long in intermediate position
If the output of the sensor is undefined or the sensor is in the intermediate position too long, this DTC will set.
