Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, create a Vehicle Scan Report and attach it to the repair order.
- With the scan tool, record any power sliding door inhibitors.
- Erase the DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read the Right Power Sliding Door Battery Voltage Input.NOTE:
If the Battery Voltage Input is below 12.0 volts, check the Fused B(+) and Ground circuits at the X402 Body connector and repair as necessary before proceeding.
- Attempt to operate the Right Power Sliding Door
- With the scan tool, read the PSDMR DTCs.
Is the DTC active?
Yes

No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK THE RIGHT POWER SLIDING DOOR
- Examine the Right Power Sliding Door for proper alignment, worn or binding rollers and hinges, loose/damaged weatherstrip, and track assembly for wear or anything that would cause an obstruction to proper operation.
- If necessary manually operate the Right Power Sliding Door on a known good vehicle and notice the effort needed to open and close for comparison.
- Especially notice the effort needed to unlatch and close the Right Power Sliding Door.
Were there any mechanical problems found?
Yes
- Refer to Service information for the related symptom(s).
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

- CHECK THE RIGHT POWER SLIDING DOOR MODULE HARNESS NOTE:
At this time it will be necessary to remove the Right Power Sliding Door Drive Unit Assembly from the vehicle.
- Turn the ignition off.
- Remove the Right Power Sliding Door Drive Unit Assembly from the vehicle. See REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION for removal procedure.
- Disconnect the Right Power Sliding Door Module connector
- Remove the Right Power Sliding Door Module from the track.
- Using a 12-volt test light, connect one end to the (A126) Fused B(+) circuit and the other to the (Z922) Ground at the Right Power Sliding Door Drive Unit connector.NOTE:
The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
No
- Repair or replace the Track harness as necessary. If you have to order a new harness, be sure to specify if it is for the Driver or Passenger side of the vehicle. The Driver side has a jumper wire in the Right Power Sliding Door Module connector for Driver Side Identification.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

- ACTUATE THE RIGHT POWER SLIDING DOOR MOTOR
- Reconnect the Right Power Sliding Door Module harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Connect a voltmeter between the (Q64) Right Power Sliding Door Clutch Feed circuit and the (Q960) Right Power Sliding Door Clutch Motor Return circuit at the Right Power Sliding Door Drive Unit connector.
- Measure the voltage between the (Q64) Right Power Sliding Door Clutch Feed circuit and the (Q960) Right Power Sliding Door Clutch Motor Return circuit at the Right Power Sliding Door Drive Unit connector.
- With the scan tool, actuate the Drive Clutch Engage.
Is the voltage between 12.5 and 13.8 volts when the clutch is activated?
Yes
- Replace the Right Power Sliding Door Drive Unit in accordance with service information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No

- CHECK RELATED HARNESS CONNECTIONS
- Disconnect all Right Power Sliding Door Module harness connectors.
- Disconnect all related in-line harness connections (if equipped).
- Disconnect the related component harness connectors.
- Inspect harness connectors, component connectors, and all male and female terminals for the following conditions:
- Proper connector installation.
- Damaged connector locks.
- Corrosion.
- Other signs of water intrusion.
- Weather seal damage (if equipped).
- Bent terminals.
- Overheating due to a poor connection (terminal may be discolored due to excessive current draw).
- Terminals that have been pushed back into the connector cavity.
- Perform a terminal drag test on each connector terminal to verify proper terminal tension.
Repair any conditions that are found.
- Reconnect all Right Power Sliding Door Module harness connectors. Be certain that all harness connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
- Reconnect all in-line harness connectors (if equipped). Be certain that all connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
- Reconnect all related component harness connectors. Be certain that all connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Using the recorded Vehicle Scan Report, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read PSDMR DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Replace the Right Power Sliding Door Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, DOOR (DDM/PDM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or MODULE, DOOR, POWER SLIDING (PSDML/PSDMR), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
