Diagnostic Test
- INSPECT MEMORY SET SWITCH FOR DAMAGE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Inspect the Memory Set switch for damage.
Is the switch damaged?
Yes
- Replace the Memory Set switch in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 2
- INSPECT FOR OBJECT OR SUBSTANCE CAUSING MEMORY SET SWITCH TO STAY OR STICK IN A PUSHED POSITION
- Inspect the Memory Set switch for anything that would cause it to stay or stick in a pushed position.
Is anything present that would cause the Memory Set switch to stay or stick in a pushed position?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- Inspect the Memory Set switch for anything that would cause it to stay or stick in a pushed position.
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on.
- Using a scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
- Press the Memory Set switch several times in all positions.
- Turn the ignition from on to off three times.
- Turn the ignition on then wait 30 seconds.
- Using a scan tool, read DDM DTCs.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK THE MEMORY SET SWITCH FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- With a scan tool, erase the DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Memory Set switch connector.
- Turn the ignition three times.
- Turn the ignition on and then wait 30 seconds.
- Using a scan tool, read DDM DTCs.
Does the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 5
No
- Replace the Memory Set switch in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE (G200) MEMORY SELECT SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Driver Door Module C5 harness connector.
- Check for continuity between ground and the (G200) Memory Select Switch Mux circuit at the Driver Door Module C5 harness connector.
Is there continuity between ground and the (G200) Memory Select Switch Mux circuit?
Yes
- Repair the (G200) Memory Select Switch Mux circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 6
- CHECK THE (G200) MEMORY SELECT SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE (G920) MEMORY SELECT SWITCH RETURN CIRCUIT
- Check for continuity between the (G200) Memory Select Switch Mux circuit and the (G920) Memory Select Switch Return circuit at the Driver Door Module C5 harness connector.
Is there continuity between the (G200) Memory Select Switch Mux circuit and the (G920) Memory Select Switch Return circuit?
Yes
- Repair the (G200) Memory Select Switch Mux circuit for a short to the (G920) Memory Select Switch return circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 7
- Check for continuity between the (G200) Memory Select Switch Mux circuit and the (G920) Memory Select Switch Return circuit at the Driver Door Module C5 harness connector.
- CHECK RELATED HARNESS CONNECTIONS
- Disconnect all Driver Door Module harness connectors.
- Disconnect all related in-line harness connections (if equipped).
- Disconnect the related component harness connectors.
- Inspect harness connectors, component connectors, and all male and female terminals for the following conditions:
- Proper connector installation.
- Damaged connector locks.
- Corrosion.
- Other signs of water intrusion.
- Weather seal damage (if equipped).
- Bent terminals.
- Overheating due to a poor connection (terminal may be discolored due to excessive current draw).
- Terminals that have been pushed back into the connector cavity.
- Perform a terminal drag test on each connector terminal to verify proper terminal tension.
Repair any conditions that are found.
- Reconnect all Driver Door Module harness connectors. Be certain that all harness connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
- Reconnect all in-line harness connectors (if equipped). Be certain that all connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
- Reconnect all related component harness connectors. Be certain that all connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Using the recorded Vehicle Scan Report, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read DDM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Replace the Driver Door Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, DOOR (DDM/PDM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- Test complete.
