Manual Park Release (MPR) Cable Installation

  1. Position the Manual Park Release (MPR) cable in the vehicle.
  2. Pull the MPR cable and grommet through the bulkhead towards the engine compartment.

  3. Secure the MPR cable rubber grommet (1) in the bulkhead.

  4. Connect the MPR cable to the MPR cable bracket, pull up on the MPR cable to verify it is locked in the MPR cable bracket.

  5. Connect the MPR cable (1) end to the MPR lever.

  6. Position the MPR lever in position, install the MPR lever bolts (1) and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Install the air cleaner body. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  8. Install the closeout panel.
  9. Release the parking brake.
  10. Verify proper operation.
