Description And Operation: Operation

The E-Shifter with Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI):

• communicates with the Transmission Control Module (TCM) via a Controller Area Network (CAN).
• incorporates an actuator that allows the knob to be locked for purposes of brake/transmission interlock (BTSI) function.
• the brake pedal must be pressed to release the vehicle out of PARK.
• positions have a detent to keep the knob in the position it is placed in.
• locking is controlled by the TCM via CAN message.
• will be serviced as an assembly.
