Description And Operation: Operation
The vacuum cleaner total operation time is limited to ten minutes when the ignition is in accessory position. The Body Control Module (BCM) will activate a "Power Saver" message in the vacuum switch located in the C-pillar to warn the customer when only one minute is left of the total operation time. When "Power Saver" is enabled, the vacuum will stay active no longer then one minute if it is not turned off before by customer. The vacuum cleaner will stay disabled for the rest of this ignition cycle. The vacuum cleaner will run indefinitely when the engine is running.
The vacuum cleaner receives power from a fuse located in the Power Distribution Center (PDC).
Vacuum Cleaner System Operation -
- The Body Control Module (BCM) receives:
- Vehicle ignition status over CAN-C
- Transmission gear position status over CAN-C
- Battery voltage status over LIN Bus
- Verifies conditions and enables vacuum cleaner operation
The BCM alerts the customer when battery voltage is low. The BCM deactivates the vacuum cleaner if voltage becomes too low.
