CHRYSLER: 2017 - 2024 (RU) Chrysler Pacifica/Voyager
GROUP: 03 - Differential and Driveline

VEHICLES AFFECTED

2017 - 2024 (RU) Chrysler Pacifica/Voyager

This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or after June 24, 2017 (MDH 0624XX).

CUSTOMER SYMPTOM

There are no Customer Symptoms for this Information Only Technical Service Bulletin (TSB).

CAUSE

The original lower torque value has the potential to allow the front halfshaft hub nut to loosen

DISCUSSION

This bulletin is to inform technicians that the torque specification for the front halfshaft hub nut has been updated in production to 310 N.m (228 ft. lbs.). Anytime a front halfshaft hub nut is being tightened in service, all past model years front halfshaft hub nuts need to be tightened to the new torque specification of 310 N.m (228 ft. lbs.). This applies to all vehicles back to a build date of on or after June 24, 2017 (MDH 0624XX).

CAUTION: Do NOT torque front halfshaft hub nuts for vehicles built on or before the build date of June 24, 2017 (MDH 0624XX) to the new torque specification, as they have a halfshaft stem that is not strong enough to support this higher torque specification. Failure to do so may cause halfshaft damage.

In summary, all front halfshaft hub nuts for vehicles built on or after June 24, 2017 (MDH 0624XX) need to be tightened to the new torque specification of 310 N.m (228 ft. lbs.), any time the vehicle is being serviced.
