Diagnostic Test
- DETERMINE ACTIVE OR STORED DTC NOTE:
Make sure the battery is fully charged.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Perform ORC module reset. Access the Miscellaneous Function menu from the ORC ECU Overview screen on the scan tool to perform this operation.
- With the scan tool, read ORC DTCs.
Is the DTC active or stored?
ORC - ACTIVE DTC
- Go To 2
ORC - STORED DTC
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM INTERMITTENT TEST. Refer to RESTRAINTS SYSTEM INTERMITTENT TEST .
- CHECK FOR ADDITIONAL ACTIVE SQUIB DTCS
- With the scan tool, read ORC DTCs.
Are there squib specific DTCs set as active in addition to B1BB9-00-AIRBAG SQUIB CIRCUIT COUPLING?
Yes
- Repair all other active squib specific DTCs before repairing B1BB9-00-AIRBAG SQUIB CIRCUIT COUPLING. Be sure to check the connectors at the ORC making sure they are seated and locked correctly. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
No
- Go To 3
- With the scan tool, read ORC DTCs.
- REPLACE THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER (ORC)
There are no other squib DTCs set?
No
WARNING:If the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) is dropped at any time, it must be replaced. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- Replace the ORC in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to CONTROLLER, OCCUPANT RESTRAINT (ORC), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST .
