Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. Position the SABIC (2) into the vehicle as a unit.
  2. Engage the SABIC to the weld studs of the inner roof side rail. Be certain that the SABIC is not twisted.
  3. Working from front to rear, install the fasteners (5) that secure the SABIC and the inflator bracket to the inner roof side rail and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Install the fastener (1) that secures the airbag front tether to the A-pillar and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Install the fastener (4) that secures the airbag rear tether to the D-pillar and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Connect the body wire harness connector (3) for the SABIC to the connector receptacle of the inflator above the sliding door opening.
  7. Install the headliner into the vehicle. Refer to HEADLINER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  8. Do not connect the negative battery cable at this time. The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Verification Test procedure should be performed following service of any SRS component. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
