Removal And Installation: Removal

WARNING:

Disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable. Wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

  1. Remove the instrument panel and Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) housing assembly. Refer to PANEL, INSTRUMENT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  2. Remove the HVAC housing to instrument panel frame fasteners (1, 3).

  3. Remove the remaining HVAC housing to instrument panel frame fasteners (1, 2).
  4. Remove the HVAC housing (3) from the instrument panel carrier frame.
