Description And Operation: Description
The blend door actuator used in the Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system, is a reversible, 12 volt Direct Current (DC) servo motor (3), that is mechanically connected to the two blend-air doors. There is a blend door actuator located on both sides of the HVAC housing.
The blend door actuator is contained within a black molded plastic housing with an integral wire connector receptacle (4). An output shaft with gears (2) connect it to the blend door linkage and integral mounting tabs (1) allow the actuator to be secured to the HVAC housing. The blend door actuator requires mechanical indexing to the blend door linkage and is electronically calibrated by the HVAC module.
The A/C heater control in the Integrated Center Stack (ICS) Module must be calibrated each time an actuator motor is replaced. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
