Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. Position the HVACR housing (3) into the vehicle.
  2. Install and securely tighten the two HVACR housing to inner quarter panel bolts (2).
  3. Install and securely tighten the three rear heater lines to inner quarter panel nuts (1).
  4. Connect the HVACR housing wire harness connector.
  5. Install the rear ceiling distribution duct. Refer to DUCT, CEILING DISTRIBUTION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Install the rear floor distribution duct. Refer to DUCT, FLOOR DISTRIBUTION, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  7. Install the right rear quarter panel trim. Refer to PANEL, QUARTER TRIM, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  8. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  9. Lubricate NEW  rubber O-ring seals with clean engine coolant and install them onto the rear heater core tube fittings. Use only the specified O-rings as they are made of a special material designed for use with engine coolant. Use only engine coolant of the type recommended for the engine in the vehicle.
    CAUTION:

    DO NOT apply excessive force on underbody heater lines or rear heater hose quick connect fittings when connecting the connections. Excessive force may damage or deform the fittings and or lines, causing an engine coolant leak.

  10. Connect the quick connect fittings (2) for the underbody heater lines to the rear heater core tubes and engage the inserts. Make sure the inserts are fully engaged to the rear heater core tube fittings.

  11. Remove the tape or plugs from underbody fittings and rear expansion valve ports.
  12. Lubricate NEW  rubber O-ring seals with clean refrigerant oil and install them onto the rear underbody refrigerant line fittings. Use only the specified O-ring seals as they are made of a special material for the R-1234yf refrigerant system. Use only refrigerant oil of the type recommended for the A/C compressor in the vehicle.
  13. Connect the underbody lines to the rear A/C expansion valve.
  14. Install the underbody lines to expansion valve nut (2). Tighten the nut to the proper. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  15. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  16. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
  17. If the heater core is being replaced, flush the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  18. Fill the engine cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  19. Evacuate the refrigerant system. Refer to PLUMBING, FRONT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  20. Charge the refrigerant system. Refer to PLUMBING, FRONT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  21. Calibrate the A/C heater control. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
