The heater core (1) for the front Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system is located in the front HVAC housing, behind the instrument panel. It is a heat exchanger made of rows of tubes and fins. The heater core tubes are attached to the side of the heater core by metal retaining clips and O-ring seals. Foam seals assure that all the air flowing through the front HVAC housing is directed through the heater core. The heater core is secured to the front HVAC air distribution housing by a plastic cover.
