Removal And Installation: Downstream: Removal

LEFT SIDE 

WARNING:

The exhaust pipes and catalytic converter become very hot during engine operation. Allow the engine to cool before removing the oxygen sensor.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  4. Disconnect the oxygen sensor wire harness connector (1).
  5. Remove the oxygen sensor (2).
  6. Clean the exhaust pipe threads using an appropriate tap.

RIGHT SIDE 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  4. Disconnect the right side oxygen sensor wire harness connector (1).
  5. Remove the right side oxygen sensor (2).
  6. Clean the exhaust pipe threads using an appropriate tap.
