Class Failure Mode Occurrences
A Micro Crack (1), Crack Down to 1/2 Rib Height (2) No Limit
B Crack Down to Rib Base (3) 3 or more
C Crack Down to Cord (4) With Initial Rib Separation (5), Chunk (6) 0

REPLACEMENT GUIDELINES 

  1. Limit for occurrences reached for Class B and C damages.
  2. Excessive wear to profile surface (See below for detailed information).
  3. Damage to cutting edge including edge cord failure (See below for detailed information).
  4. Contamination - engine oil, power steering fluid, coolant, brake fluid and others.
  5. Belt noise (Please refer to the Noise Diagnosis below for detailed information).
NOTE:

Do not use belt dressing on a serpentine belt.
