Coolant Fill - 3.6L

  1. Install coolant fill funnel (1) (special tool #8195A, Funnel).
  2. Fill the pressurized coolant bottle to the recommended level.
  3. Start the engine and allow the engine to warm up at idle for roughly 10 minutes.
  4. Top the coolant off if required.
  5. Increase the engine speed slightly until the thermostat opens and verify the fan is operating.
  6. Top the coolant level if required.
  7. Allow the engine to idle for several minutes.
  8. Shut the engine off.
    NOTE:

    The use of a external fan can be used to help aid in the cooling of the engine.

  9. Allow the engine to cool down enough for the thermostat to close.
  10. Top the coolant off if required.
  11. Restart the engine and increase the engine speed slightly until the thermostat opens.
  12. Allow the engine to idle after the thermostat opens.
  13. Verify the cooling fan is operational.
  14. Check the level of the coolant.
  15. Top the coolant off if required.
  16. Remove the funnel from the pressurized coolant bottle.
  17. Install the radiator cap.
  18. Take the vehicle for a test drive.
  19. Top the coolant off if required.
