Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. Install a NEW  push rod retainer on the brake pedal arm.

  2. Position the pedal bracket over the brake booster and dash mounting studs.
    NOTE:

    Brake booster mounting fasteners to be secured in this order: Top Outboard - Bottom Inboard - Top Inboard - Bottom Outboard.

  3. Install the pedal bracket assembly to brake booster mounting fasteners (2) and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Install the pedal bracket assembly to dash mounting fasteners and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  5. Install the wire harness retainers onto the pedal bracket.

  6. Install a NEW  push rod retainer (2) on the brake pedal arm by pushing the retainer (2) to the brake pedal while listening for the click of the tabs (1) to confirm engagement.
  7. Install the brake booster rod to the retainer (2), then install a NEW  locking tab (4) into the retainer (2) while listening for the click of the tabs (3) to confirm engagement.
  8. Install the brake pedal sensor. Refer to SENSOR, STOP LAMP, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  9. Connect the accelerator pedal wire harness connector.
  10. Install the steering column. Refer to COLUMN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  11. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
