Removal And Installation: Rear: Installation

NOTE:

Clean the hub face to remove any dirt or corrosion where the rotor mounts.

  1. Position the brake rotor (2) on the wheel studs and against the hub and bearing.
  2. Position the caliper and adapter bracket over the rotor as an assembly.

  3. Connect the EPB electrical harness connector (4).
  4. Install the caliper adapter bracket to rear knuckle mounting fasteners (2) and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  5. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  7. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
  8. Pump the brake pedal several times before moving the vehicle to set the pads to the brake rotor.
  9. Check and adjust the brake fluid level in the reservoir as necessary.
    NOTE:

    Be sure to exit Service Mode either with scan tool or by customer method of applying the EPB switch with the brake pedal depressed at the same time, before road testing.

  10. Road test the vehicle and make several stops to seat the brake pads to the rotor.
