Theory Of Operation

The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module receives signals from the Wheel Speed Sensors (WSS) from all four wheels. The ABS Module uses these signals to compare with one another to verify that the signals are within each other and broadcast this information out on the CAN C Bus networks for other Modules. If the ABS Module detects a signal out of range, no signal or incorrect signal from one of the wheel speed sensors, it will set this or other DTCs. The wheel speed sensors on this system may use a non-directional or directional type wheel speed sensor dependent upon the vehicles options available. These wheel speed sensors are not interchangeable with one another and the correct part number must be installed in the matching position on the vehicle.
