Glass, Sunroof, Rear: Adjustments

  1. Open the sunshade fully.
  2. Verify the sunroof glass panel is in the fully closed position.

  3. Disconnect the top of the mechanism covers (1) from the front glass panel and slide rearward to access attachment fasteners.

  4. Loosen but do not remove all the front glass panel attachment fasteners (1).

  5. Loosen but do not remove all the rear glass panel attachment fasteners (1).

  6. Insert (special tool #2022300230, Gauges, Clearance Measurement, Non-Metallic) 4 mm (0.16 in.)  plastic feeler gauges (1) between the interface of the front and rear glass panels at two locations (position outboard on both LH and RH sides). Be careful not to damage sunroof seal or glass encapsulation surface while inserting feeler gauges.

  7. Standing outside vehicle and reaching into interior to support glass panel by hand from bottom surface adjust the flushness of the front glass panel surface along the FRONT to be within flush to 2.5 mm (0.10 in.) under flush relative to the roof surface.
  8. With assistance of a helper seated in the interior tighten only the furthest forward sunroof glass panel attachment fasteners to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  9. Adjust the flushness of front glass panel surface at the REAR corners (1) to be within flush to 2.5 mm (0.10 in.) over flush relative to the roof surface.

  10. Tighten all the remaining front sunroof glass panel attachment fasteners to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  11. Adjust the flushness of the rear glass panel surface to be within flush to 2.5 mm (0.10 in.) under flush relative to front glass panel surface.

  12. Tighten only the furthest forward sunroof glass panel attachment fasteners (1) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  13. Adjust the flushness of rear glass panel surface along the REAR to be within flush to 2.5 mm (0.10 in.) over flush relative to the roof surface.

  14. Tighten all the remaining rear sunroof glass panel attachment fasteners (1) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  15. Remove the feeler gauges between glass panels.
  16. Check for proper fit. If not OK, repeat glass panel adjustment.
  17. Connect mechanism covers to front glass panel.
  18. Verify sunroof glass operation.
