Removal Dual Pane

NOTE:

The sunshade can be removed without removing the sunroof assembly.

The sunshade retraction spring force is significant. Firmly hold onto the sunshade while releasing the sunshade.

  1. Open the sunshade fully.
  2. Remove the sunroof front glass panel. Refer to GLASS, SUNROOF, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Position the rear glass and loosely and remove the fasteners.
  4. Remove the fasteners (1) from the rear glass, and slide the glass forward as far as possible.

  5. With a assistant, hold the sunshade beam (3) tension.

  6. Using a flat bladed tool (1), release the tab (2) and roll the sunshade beam off the guide. Do this on both sides of the sunroof.
  7. Using a small flat bladed tool, carefully pry at the front of the white clip (4) and slide it rearward off the guide (5). Do this on both sides of the sunroof.

  8. remove the white clip from the fabric, taking note of the sew line (2) and slot (1) for installation.

  9. Grasp the sunshade on the left side of the vehicle and slide it to the right, then lift the end off the pivot.

  10. Apply light pulling pressure on the sunshade assembly (1), while twisting clockwise until the steel rod (2) on the right hand side of the sunshade extends to the locked position.
  11. When at least one inch of the steel rod is exposed it can be removed from the bracket without the spring unwinding. If the sunshade spring lock is released before it engages in the internal slot, the sunshade spring will completely unwind and will need to be re-wound prior to installation. Refer to SUNSHADE, SUNROOF, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
