Removal And Installation: Removal
WARNING:
Disable the airbag system before attempting any front seat diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable and wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to follow these instructions may result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.
- Before proceeding with the following repair procedure, review all warnings and cautions. Refer to SEATS, FIRST ROW, WARNING .
- Position the seat fully forward.
- Remove the J-hooks (1) securing the bottom of the seat back panel (2) to the seat.
- Using a small flat bladed tool, remove the screw covers and the four screws (2).
- Starting at one side of the seat back panel (3), use a trim stick or equivalent to release the retaining tabs and pull rearward to loosen the seat back panel.
- Remove the wire harness fasteners.
- Disconnect the wire harness connector from the media hub (1) and the video monitor if equipped, then remove the seat back panel.
