Signal Lamp: Removal

Vehicles equipped with the optional signal lamps located in the outside rear view mirrors (1) have one amber bulb that illuminates through a lens on the forward facing surface of the mirror shell cap. Illumination of these lamps is coordinated with the illumination of the turn signals for the same side of the vehicle.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.

  2. Remove the appropriate side mirror glass (1). Refer to MIRROR, OUTSIDE REARVIEW, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or MIRROR, OUTSIDE REARVIEW, COVER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or MIRROR, OUTSIDE REARVIEW, GLASS, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  3. Remove fasteners (1) securing the shell cap to the mirror.

  4. Remove the mirror shell cap (1).

  5. Disconnect the wire harness connector (1) from the lamp.

  6. Release the lamp from the tabs and pull outward to remove the mirror assembly.
