Description And Operation

DESCRIPTION 

Device connectivity is enabled through a centrally located media hub (1).

In models equipped with a high level floor console, the media hub is located to the right of the wireless charger, below the floor console cover slide in front of the console cupholders.

In models that are equipped with a base floor console, the media hub is located to the right of the cubby bin, below the Integrated Center Stack (ICS).

The media hub is a centralized media connection point on the vehicle that contains:

NOTE:

The powered USB port provides 5 volts at 2.5 amperes to charge the battery of a connected media device.

The media hub housing, wiring and connections to the vehicle electrical system are concealed behind the instrument panel.

The media hub cannot be adjusted or repaired. If ineffective or damaged it must be replaced.

OPERATION 

In vehicles so equipped, the media hub allows the audio content of various media devices to be connected to the radio. Once connected, the audio content of the media device may be accessed and played through the audio system components of the vehicle using the radio controls.

The hardwired circuits between the media hub and the radio may be diagnosed using conventional diagnostic tools and procedures. Refer to the appropriate wiring information. The wiring information includes wiring diagrams, details of wire harness routing and retention, connector pin-out information and location views for the various wire harness connectors, splices and grounds. NOTE:

Use of the MIT019 Multi-Media Tester may cause the radio screen to go blank. For diagnosis and testing of the media hub and USB ports, refer to the MULTI-MEDIA TEST  in. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING .
