Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition on and open one of the front doors.
      NOTE:

      A front door must remain open whenever checking or erasing Radio DTCs.

    2. With the scan tool, read Radio DTCs and record on the repair order.
    3. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
    4. Cycle the ignition switch from on to off, wait five seconds and then back to on.
    5. With the scan tool, read Radio DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

  2. SATELLITE RADIO OPERATION 

    Does the satellite radio function properly?

    Yes 

    • The satellite radio and GPS share the same antenna cable. If the Satellite radio is functioning properly, replace the GPS Antenna puck in accordance with the service information.
    • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

    No 

    • Go To  3
  3. CHECK THE ANTENNA AND CABLE 
    1. Connect the Radio Diagnostic Tool (special tool #9977-6-13, Adapter, Long RF RG-58 Fakra) and (special tool #9977-6-GPS-GLO, Antenna, GPS GLONASS) to the GPS Antenna connection on the back of the Radio.
    2. Make sure one of the front doors is still open.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. Using the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
    5. Turn the Radio on.
    6. Using the scan tool, read Radio DTCs.

      Is the DTC active?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  4
  4. TEST THE GPS ANTENNA CABLE 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the vehicles GPS Antenna cable at the GPS Antenna.
      NOTE:

      Special tool 9977-6-13 should still be connected at the back of the Radio during this test.

    3. Connect the (special tool #9977-6-13, Adapter, Long RF RG-58 Fakra) to the vehicles GPS Antenna.
    4. Make sure one of the front doors is still open.
    5. Turn the ignition on.
    6. Using the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
    7. Turn the Radio on.
    8. Using the scan tool, read Radio DTCs.

      Is the DTC active?

      Yes 

      • Replace the GPS Antenna in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

      • Use the Radio Diagnostic Tool (special tool #9977-6-13, Adapter, Long RF RG-58 Fakra) to locate the open circuit, repair or replace the Satellite Antenna cable as necessary.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
