Theory Of Operation

The program logic within the door module allows the microprocessor to prioritize all inputs and then determine the tasks it needs to perform. These tasks are then completed either by controlling hard wired outputs to the various motors, actuators or lamps on its own or by sending electronic message requests over the CAN-IHS Bus to the appropriate electronic module in the vehicle.

If either one of the Window Driver circuits are shorted to battery, the motor will operative in one direction only. If the current remains on when the window is in its full travel, the circuit breaker will open. To lower the window, voltage is applied to the Window Driver (Down) circuit and the Window Driver (UP) circuit remains grounded in the module. To drive the window up, the circuits are reversed.

If both of the Window Driver circuits (Up and Down) are grounded during a window movement command, the motor will be totally inoperative. To lower the window, voltage is applied to the Window Driver (Down) circuit and the Window Driver (UP) circuit remains grounded in the module. To drive the window up, the circuits are reversed.
