Removal And Installation: Inboard: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative cable from the battery. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector before disconnecting the negative cable from the battery.
  2. If equipped remove the hands free liftgate module. Refer to MODULE, HANDS FREE LIFTGATE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the appropriate fascia. For the front fascia. Refer to FASCIA, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . For the rear fascia. Refer to FASCIA, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    NOTE:

    If either of the sensor bracket latch (2) features are damaged, fascia replacement is recommended.

  4. From the back of the fascia, carefully pry the park assist sensor bracket latch (2) features away from the latch tabs of the sensor far enough to disengage the sensor (1) from the bracket.
  5. Disconnect the wire harness connector (3) from the sensor connector receptacle.
  6. Remove the sensor from the vehicle.
