Theory Of Operation

The Vehicle Theft Alarm (VTA) Warning Indicator is located in the Instrument Cluster (IC). The Body Control Module (BCM) sends a voltage signal to the IC, via the VTA Warning Indicator circuit, in order to illuminate the Anti-Theft Indicator when the following conditions are met:

• The BCM receives a Controller Area Network (CAN) message from the RF Hub (RFH) indicating all immobilizer requirements have been met.
• The ignition is off.
• The hood ajar status is set to off.
