Rear Wiper Motor: Removal
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the rear wiper arm from the rear wiper motor output shaft. Refer to ARM, WIPER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the trim from the inside of the liftgate. Refer to PANEL, TRIM, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Disconnect the liftgate wire harness connector from the rear wiper motor (2) connector receptacle.
- Remove the one bolt and two nuts (1) that secure the rear wiper motor (3) to the liftgate inner panel.
- Carefully pull the wiper motor away from the inside of the liftgate inner panel far enough to disengage the output shaft (3) from the rubber grommet (2) in the liftgate glass (1).
- Remove the motor from the liftgate.
- If necessary, working from the outside of the liftgate, pry the rubber grommet (2) from the output shaft clearance hole in the glass (1) and discard.
