Washer Reservoir: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the filler neck from the washer reservoir. Refer to RESERVOIR, WINDSHIELD WASHER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  4. Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Remove the right front wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, FRONT WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Pull the washer hoses (3) from the retaining troughs in the reservoir and position them out of the way.
  7. Remove the washer pump (4) from the washer reservoir (1) without disconnecting the wiring and hoses from the pump. Move the washer pump aside. Refer to PUMP, WINDSHIELD WASHER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  8. If equipped, remove the headlamp washer pump (5) from the reservoir (1) without disconnecting the wiring or hose from the pump. Refer to MOTOR, HEADLAMP WASHER PUMP, EXPORT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  9. Remove the low fluid level sensor from the front of the reservoir (1).
  10. Remove the rubber grommet(s) from the washer pump mounting hole(s) in the reservoir and discard.
  11. Remove the three screws (2) that secure the washer reservoir to the right front support structure.
  12. Lift the reservoir slightly to disengage the locating tab from the right front support structure and remove the reservoir from the vehicle.
