Removal And Installation
REMOVAL
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to ALUMINUM WHEEL INSTALLATION
.
- Remove and DISCARD the hub nut (1).
- Remove the rear hub. Refer to HUB AND BEARING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
.
- Using a pry bar or equivalent, partially dislodge the halfshaft (1) from the Rear Drive Module (RDM).
- Use a jack stand to compress the suspension and remove the halfshaft from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION
- Install the halfshaft (1) until the circlip engages in the RDM.NOTE:
If the circlip is fully engaged, the halfshaft will not be removable from RDU by hand.
- Remove the jack stand compressing the suspension.
- Install the rear hub. Refer to HUB AND BEARING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
.
- Install a NEW hub nut (1). Tighten to proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
