Removal And Installation

REMOVAL 

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to ALUMINUM WHEEL INSTALLATION .

  3. Remove and DISCARD  the hub nut (1).
  4. Remove the rear hub. Refer to HUB AND BEARING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  5. Using a pry bar or equivalent, partially dislodge the halfshaft (1) from the Rear Drive Module (RDM).
  6. Use a jack stand to compress the suspension and remove the halfshaft from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION

  1. Install the halfshaft (1) until the circlip engages in the RDM.
    NOTE:

    If the circlip is fully engaged, the halfshaft will not be removable from RDU by hand.

  2. Remove the jack stand compressing the suspension.
  3. Install the rear hub. Refer to HUB AND BEARING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  4. Install a NEW  hub nut (1). Tighten to proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  5. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
