  1. Clean and inspect the valves thoroughly. Replace burned, warped and cracked valves.
  2. Inspect the retainer lock grooves for wear or damage (2).
  3. Inspect the valve face (4) for wear and pitting.
  4. Measure the valve stems (3) and margins (5) for wear.
