Lower Intake Manifold: Installation

Clean and inspect the sealing surfaces, the gaskets may be reused if no issues are found. Install the lower intake manifold to cylinder head gaskets.
NOTE:
FKM gaskets should not be cleaned with acetone, ketone (like MEK), organic acids (formic acid/acetic acid), toluene and benzene.

Position the lower intake manifold on the cylinder head surfaces.
Tighten the bolts to the proper torque specification as the sequence shown in illustration. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

Install the fuel injectors and the fuel rail to the lower intake manifold. Tighten the bolts (1) to the proper torque specification. Refer to FUEL DELIVERY, GAS, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

Position the wire harness and attach the wire harness assembly onto the cylinder head covers on each side of the engine. Connect the fuel injector wire harness connectors (1).

Connect the fuel supply hose (1) to the fuel rail. Refer to FITTING, QUICK CONNECT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

Install the insulator (1) to the top of the left cylinder head cover.
Install the upper intake manifold, support brackets and resonator. Refer to MANIFOLD, INTAKE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Start the engine and check for leaks.
