Removal And Installation: Downstream: Removal
LEFT SIDE
WARNING:
The exhaust pipes and catalytic converter become very hot during engine operation. Allow the engine to cool before removing the oxygen sensor.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
or BELLY PAN, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
.
- Disconnect the oxygen sensor wire harness connector (1).
- Remove the oxygen sensor (2).
- Clean the exhaust pipe threads using an appropriate tap.
RIGHT SIDE
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
or BELLY PAN, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
.
- Disconnect the right side oxygen sensor wire harness connector (1).
- Remove the right side oxygen sensor (2).
- Clean the exhaust pipe threads using an appropriate tap.
